New Ben Kweller album April 6th..

New Ben Folds album April or May..

Cursive tour (with The Wrens!) rolls through anywhere from April to June..

John Vanderslice in Orlando later this month.

The Sounds/Kill Hannah/IMA Robot (!) later this month in Orlando.

PINBACK (!) and the American Analog Set next month in Orlando!

Calexico show in Tampa next month.

Warped Tour in Tampa on July 30th, Jacksonville the day before, Orlando the day after. (Might go to all 3!)

Wow.. it's a good year so far.

Now if we could just pull The Blood Brothers, The Unicorns (because I missed them the first time they played Tampa), Minus the Bear, Mindless Self Indulgence, Trail of Dead, Death Cab, Metric, Bright Eyes, Broken Social Scene, Manitoba, Menomena, Mos Def, and The Mars Volta (all this year), I'd be happy forever.

Or at least until next year.

i was just thinking...

It hit me recently.

I miss Jacksonville. I miss my home (my REAL home) a lot.

I wasn't meant for this country bull-ish.

I suddenly can't stand being in the middle of nowhere. I am realizing that I was born in raised in a neighborhood of 40,000 people and moved to an entire town of 9000 people.

I was born for the urban atmosphere.

I was born to wear a leather jacket and walk aimlessly through the city at 1:30 in the morning. Or something.

But not for this "wow look this is our one streetlight, hey let's go tip some cows, when is the next rodeo?" junk.

I am editing a story for my journalism class about horse pulling.

WHAT THE CRAP IS HORSE PULLING?

I mean it's a good story and all, but I have nary a clue what horse pulling is. I don't own any big thick boots, I don't wear nuthuggers, I don't have a cowboy hat, I don't have a belt buckle the size of a dinner plate...

I don't have an ATV, nor a golf cart to roam my immense VASTNESS of BARREN WASTELAND PROPERTY... nor do I have a tractor that does 30 miles per hour, or 800 acres to plow..

I went down Mondon Hill Road the other day with Ryan and after about 3 minutes of driving, we came to this weird looking old barn that looked like something right out of a Jeepers Creepers movie. It was freaky. We were both scared so he turned around and hauled it out of there before some giant man-eating monster came out of the friggin' CORNFIELDS AND RIPPED OUT OUR BODY PARTS TO REPLACE THE ONES THAT HE LOST.

I need to leave this place. I'm more than glad to be graduating in a year's time and can finally get out of here.
